Starting a Project
No.
You can contact us with finished plans or with an early-stage idea.
If you already have architectural and structural drawings, we can review the steel scope.
If you are earlier in the process, tell us what you want to build and what you need the finished project to accomplish.
We can help identify what information needs to be developed before fabrication begins.
The more project information you can provide, the easier it is to understand the scope.
Useful information may include:
- Architectural plans
- Structural plans
- Steel drawings
- Project address
- Photos
- Measurements
- Inspiration images
- Project schedule
If you don’t have all of that yet, send what you do have.
Photos can be very helpful on custom gates, patio covers, architectural steel, privacy screens, stairs, and other design-driven projects.
Your project still needs to be developed around your own property, dimensions, structural requirements, and site conditions.
Some structural steel, building, patio structure, and other projects require plans or calculations from a licensed engineer.
When engineering is required, we fabricate and install according to the approved design.
We can discuss the project early and help identify when professional engineering or other design work is needed.
A photo can provide design direction, but the new project should be built around your property and requirements.
Dimensions, materials, structure, access, and applicable project requirements may all be different.
The goal is usually to capture the features you like rather than simply duplicate another project without considering those differences.

Project Process Questions
The first step is understanding the project.
We may ask for plans, photos, measurements, the project address, schedule, or other information depending on the type of work.
Once we understand the scope, we can determine what additional steps are needed before fabrication.
Some projects require field measurements or site evaluation.
Others can be developed from approved construction documents.
The project determines what is needed.
Much of our work is fabricated in the shop before the steel reaches the project.
Field work may then include installation, erection, assembly, or project-specific connections.
The finished steel still has to reach the place where it will be installed.
That means fabrication decisions may need to consider:
- Transportation
- Door or building access
- Crane access
- Component size
- Weight
- Field assembly
- Connection locations
A component that is easy to fabricate may be very difficult to install if those conditions are ignored.
Yes.

Start a project
What do you need to know before we start building?
Your plans may call for something that doesn’t fit neatly into one service category. Your property may create an unusual installation challenge. You may know what you want to build without knowing what the steel needs to look like yet.
That is exactly why the first conversation matters.
We can review the project and determine the next step. Send us photos if that is where you are starting. Tell us where the project is located and what you need the finished steel to accomplish.
